Editorial Review
Piquillo, designed by ICRAVE, brings the flavors of Spain to Terminal 5 with the first-ever tapas restaurant in a US airport. Chef Alexandra Raij has created an authentic tapas menu that is perfect for sharing. Whether summer Greenmarket inspired specialties or a classic continental breakfast or specialty egg dishes, Piquillo has all the bases covered. Over a dozen cold dishes complement the many cold and hot grilled sandwich offerings. The real surprises here consist of cazuelas, little earthenware crocks of everything from slow-cooked vegetable stew to Catalan braised chickpeas to a classic Catalan veal stew. Or perhaps you might opt for Canclones, pasta stuffed with braised meat and bechamel sauce; sautéed clams with garlic, parsley and white wine; Galician-style octopus served with potatoes; or sizzling garlic shrimp? You never experienced airport dining like this before!
