NorthSix is a superbly intimate Brooklyn venue. Good bar staff, and somehow even when it's crowded one can find somewhere to sit and have a drink and a gossip. The main room is a great size for under-the-radar bands. Things fill up due to the superior band booking but generally one can still get a reasonable gander at what jeans the singer is sporting and whether the lead guitarist is using a capo.

Australian band, Youth Group continue their assault on the USA with their new album, "Casino Twilight Dogs." The album is is the follow up to last year’s critically acclaimed Skeleton Jar. Produced by Wayne Connolly (The Vines, You Am I), and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Guided By Voices).

The Knitting Factory is a locus of experimental, envelope-pushing music in the downtown NYC music scene. They showcase styles ranging from rock to jazz to neo-classical to electronica. The Knitting Factory complex is deceptively huge, sprawling over four floors with bars and stages spread throughout.
