Marchi's is fine dining for those in the mood for upscale Italian cuisine, a family-friendly place run by the Marchi family for over 80 years. With no sign outside and no menu awaiting inside, you might miss your opportunity for one of Marchi's five-course meals of Northern Italian fare, starting with a cold antipasto, a portion of lasagna from Signor Marchi's own recipe, deep-fried fish, and a roast chicken with veal and fresh mushrooms. Marchi's location in Murray Hill and the preponderance of customers, who tend to be long- and old-timers, makes this a definite neighborhood restaurant, that for tourists may smack too much of hidden New York to be attractive.
