Harvey Fierstein wrote and stars in this solo show about Bella Azbug, who was an outspoken advocate of liberal causes, such as the Equal Rights Amendment, gayy rights and opposition to the Vietnam War.

The show is a raucous and humorous look at her 1976 primary campaign for ,US Senate. In the play we find the larger-than-life, truth-slinging, groundbreaking, hat-wearing candidate squirreled away in the bathroom of a midtown hotel awaiting that night’s election results while a coterie of family and celebs await her entrance.

Kimberly Senior directs.
