liked Jacques Torres (I'll admit, I have quite the sweet tooth!) but my all time favorite for chocolates and desserts in the city still has got to be Chocolate Bar... their chocolate is to die for! And I just can't get enough of their new location in West Village! (19 Eighth Avenue between 12th Street & Jane, NYC)

This is a chocolate lover's paradise. Just getting near the door fills your senses with the sweetly bitter fragrance of chocolate. Once inside, you're surrounded by an astounding variety of brilliant variations on chocolate. There are small chocolate squares with that combine the cocoa flavor with the mildly spicey ginger. Fist-size chocolate chunk cookies seem to be built around chocolate bars. And the hot chocolate is rich, sweet, a little bitter, and piping hot -- any thicker and you'd need to chew it.
And the Easter Bunnies are works of art in themselves.
