Summary: Tonight the Riviera Gallery transforms into a Strip Club of sorts with their new installation/performance.
"'Strip Club' is a collaborative installation performance. Instead of the traditional pole or live dancer you will be greeted by a massive multi-faceted sculpture, fog machines, laser lights, a requisite live music performance, frosty libations, and a chance to invest in the art and own a portion of a large work at no cost. Visitors will be encouraged to sponsor a facet of the sculpture, by way of a barter system, becoming another facet of the piece in perpetuity. Conversations and other events will undoubtedly reshape the look or feel of the project from day to day and collaborations with visitors, friends, and strangers will be sought and encouraged."

The Moving Image Museum is pleased to present the premiere of "Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That!" (2006, 90 mins. Directed by Adam Yauch.) a new Beastie Boys concert movie shot with 50 video cameras handed out to fans at an October 2004 concert at Madison Square Garden. A discussion with band member and filmmaker Adam Yauch (a.k.a. MCA, a.k.a. Nathanial Hörnblowér) will follow the 7:30 p.m. screening.
A selection of Beastie Boys’ music videos will be shown in Behind the Screen’s TV Lounge from March 25 through April 23.

Package Deals is an interdisciplinary curatorial project bringing the best in film, art, and music from the world’s most vibrant and creative communities to New York City. The series’ inaugural program will showcase documentaries, artist films, and music videos from Reykjavík, Iceland. An after-party follows the screening with drinks courtesy of Reyka Vodka. All five featured films were produced by female filmmakers living in Iceland, and an unusual motif of fantastically envisioned worlds and lives links the work. This may take the form of stop-motion animation, as in Eyrún Eyjólfsdóttir's "Midnight," or it might happen within the color-saturated settings of young Icelandic artist Unnar Andrea Einarsdóttir’s videos. Einarsdóttir, who is also the star of her work, infuses violence, innocence, and female sexuality with dark humor, all while testing the limits of her own physical endurance. Fantasy of the Package Deals variety may also be realistic in origin, stemming from the proverbial desire for beauty and glamour, as undertaken by Hrönn Sveinsdóttir in her 2002 documentary, "I Skom Drekans" ("In the Shoes of the Dragon").

Though some of us need notes to remember our own birthdays, others can memorize the order of a shuffled deck of cards in less than two minutes.
The USA Memory Championship requires its “Mental Athletes” to exercise their memories in 7 events featuring a string of 250 random digits, an entire deck of shuffled cards, 300 random words, 99 names and faces and an unpublished 50 line poem. In this tournament, with 7 events spread over the entire day, competitors from all over the country will vie for the title of "National Memory Champion".
The winner of the USA Memory Championship will automatically qualify to compete against champions of other countries in the World Memory Championships to be held in Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to adult competitors from around the country, 15 high school juniors and seniors from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be competing as well.

Louisahhh and Chris Sparx guest DJ this week's Bad Attitude, and are turning it into a Three 6 Mafia celebration party. Nothing official, obv., but if you come in singing either "Poppin' My Collar" or "Stay Fly" then you are pretty much guaranteed a free drink — some of that purple drank, even. Louisahhh has said that she will be quoting Herman Hesse all night, and maybe Chris Sparx will play some Steppenwolf. Regardless, with Louisahhhh's electro/hip-hop set up against Chris' punk rock, it will be like a cell-splice of James Murphy.
