Recent hotel guests have said: "Has the look, feel and service of an old world hotel." "A stunning marble lobby with fresh flowers and white gloved elevator operators." As for the rooms many find the fresh flowers a nice touch though the "furniture and décor, while well maintained, feel dated." The bathrooms are well appointed and "while not grand in size offer top-of-the-line amenities and ours was recently renovated." Many guests comment favorably on the location, "The location is ideal -- steps from Central Park and Madison Avenue shopping in one of the most expensive and safe neighborhoods in NYC."

1. Pet Friendly
The Carlyle is pet friendly up to 25 pounds. There is a $50 per night fee, and dog walking available.
2. The Mark Hampton Touch
The late great Mark Hampton decorated each room at The Carlyle individually. He also designed the armchairs found in each room, which are named after his daughter Alexa.
