This slender, shining high-rise hotel faces the rebuilding site of the former World Trade Center and is one block from the World Financial Center. Wall Street is six blocks away. The hotel has 565 units, including 463 guest rooms and 102 suites. The majority of guest rooms feature king-sized beds. The guest rooms provide a warm, residential ambience, elegantly furnished in soft soothing natural hues. Bedrooms feature 42'' plasma screen televisions, radio/cd player, cordless telephones, high-speed Internet access, good sized marble bathrooms and thoughtful laptop-size safes. Views are of the construction at Ground Zero; if your room is high enough, there are also views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor to the southwest, and Brooklyn and the East River to the east.
Reborn in 2003, the Financial District’s light-filled Millenium Hilton is located 6 to 10 blocks from Wall Street, South Street Seaport, and Battery Park. Its lobby is decorated with stone floors, rosewood paneling, and cream tones, and holds a display of the hotel’s salvaged American flag from September 11, 2001.
The hotel features a 20-by-40 foot heated indoor pool with floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of nearby 18th-century St. Paul’s Chapel as well as an adjacent fitness center complete with weights and exercise equipment.
The hotel’s business center provides high-speed Internet access (fee) and four computer terminals, as well as faxing, copying, and secretarial services (fees apply). The hotel also offers a small Spa, where massage therapy is available. A gift shop is also on premises.
The onsite restaurant offers a regional American menu and serves three meals daily. Adjoining the lobby, the velvety Liquid Assets bar offers coffee, light fare and cocktails throughout the day.
