Bodies: The Exhibition

Warning: Not for the squeamish. 'Bodies...The Exhibition' will give the public the unique opportunity to see first-hand the inner workings of our bodies through authentic, preserved human body specimens. This 32,000 square foot exhibit that features 22 whole body specimens, as well as more than 260 additional organ and partial body specimens. Please note: this exhibit is made up of bodies that were taken from the Dalian Medical School in northern China. There has been some controversy over the source, because the Dalian Medical School gets unidentified or unclaimed bodies.

This free exhibit will take guests through The Seaport's centuries of growth and epic changes that have impacted New York City and the entire region. Achival materials showcase vintage streetscapes presented with the same views as they appear today allowing visitors to examine continuities and change over time at The Seaport. These momentous occasions will be demonstrated through multimedia features and scale models representing the district during these crucial moments in history and culminates with an architectural model of General Growth Properties' proposed plan for the new Seaport.

Under the direction of Joe Hunter and his team of musical leaders, the Big Apple Chorus sings a vast repertoire of swing, blues, barbershop, jazz, gospel, Broadway and patriotic arrangements . . . all performed a cappella. Recognized as one of the best a cappella choruses in the United States, the Big Apple Chorus performs these arrangements -- with a full complement of choreography -- for audiences all over the country.
