Relaxed, casual, and the dimly lit variety of inviting, Confessionals serves up Latin American cuisine in the East Village with alacrity. There are the expected selections, of course, like the montaditos trio of tostones con churrasco, the house empanada with sweet plantain and oxtail over a lentil salad, and shrimp cazuelita, but you'll also find a quinoa grain risotto, a Yucca mash au gratin, and the Confessional sliders, with a fig marmalade counterbalancing the black angus beef patties.
