Enjoy sun, fun, food and spectacular views of downtown Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge and great music at the newest Water Taxi Beach along the New York City waterfront.

Throw down your towel and soak up some sun on over 20,000 square feet of sand (300 tons), or join a pick up game of Beach volleyball or basketball. Enjoy respectfully priced food and drink at the Beach Grill or grab a 1-mile salad featuring ingredients grown 1-mile or less from the Beach at our Backstage Cafe.

Experience great music and entertainment at The Beach, New York’s premier live outdoor venue situated a few steps from the sand.

And please note that dogs are not allowed!

Admission And Tickets

Water Taxi Beach Governors Island is only accessible by boat from Brooklyn and Manhattan on the Governors Island Ferry departing from the Battery Maritime Building during hours when Governors Island is open. The fare on the Governors Island Ferry is free.

For music events on nights when the Island is typically not open, transportation to and from Water Taxi Beach Governors Island will be provided by New York Water Taxi and fare is included in your ticket price unless the concert is free. At that point, the fee abord the Water Taxi is $5 round trip.

After the shows, New York Water Taxi will provide service from Governors Island to Pier 11 @ Wall Street, just a few blocks south of South Street Seaport and a few blocks north of the Maritime Building.
