Mrs. Welles collaboration with COOLTURE IMPACT, the largest interactive platform for public art in Times Square, is part of the mission of COOLTURE IMPACT to engage the public in this inspiring urban renewal art project in Times Square, the heart of New York city.

As one of the most vistied areas in the world, with 225,000 commuters and approximatedly 200,000 tourists both local and international visiting on a daily basis, COOLTURE IMPACT invites people to physically interact and participate in the discovery of meaning behind the vital Street photography of Mrs. Welles, that transport us from the vibrant beaches in Conney Island to the dinamic Streets of New York city.

Born in USA, Lauren Welles is an award-winning photographer and former corporate attorney who left an unfulfilling 16-year career to follow her passion for photography. Her work has been exhibited at various venues around the world. Published in numerous publications, including, the New York Times; La Repubblica in Italy, CBS News, The New Yorker, The Slate Magazine, Welles recently served as a curator for the group photography exhibition, “Greetings from Coney Island” at the Charles P. Sifton Gallery in New York City.

As Lauren Welles says “The pulse of this city is like no other––intense and frenetic.  Mixed within that is a strong spirit, a verve, if you will; that's what inspires me to photograph.  All the photos are of candid moments, as I don't want to interrupt the flow of time and space that I see before me.  Even though the moments are candid, I believe there is an interaction going on, an invisible one. I'm not a mere observer, but a willful participant by choosing the frame, and when to press the shutter”.

During the first year, this platform has been an incubator to explore with new technologies, art content and social interaction. It has created a new paradigm in story telling, where art pieces in digital form can be activated and exposed to a large audience.

“This unique project is possible thanks to the support of the PABT and the companies and artists that believe in creating collaborative art to bring positive light to the iconic 42nd Street,” Ana Calvo de Luis, founder of Coolture Impact, explains. “We´ve focused on creating a dynamic, interactive, content driven, social platform that positively impacts on how we interact and communicate.”

All Cultural and Artistic activities produced by Coolture Impact, strive to emphasize plurality, expression and opinion, in line with America’s own diversity in language, creativity in the arts and unique cultural heritage.
