This year, Musicians On Call celebrates 25 years of delivering the healing power of music to patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments nationwide. As part of this celebration, MOC will host Anthems of Healing, a special event highlighting treasured songs and stories that make up the organization’s 25 years, and the healing power of music.
The night’s honorees include Barbara Carr, Dave Marsh and Sasha Carr (The Carr-Marsh Family) receiving the Leadership in Music Golden Ukulele and Amos Lee receiving the Music Heals Golden Ukulele. The Carr-Marsh Family established The Kristen Ann Carr Fund (KACF) in memory of their daughter, who passed away from sarcoma at the age of 21 in 1993. Over the past 30 years, KACF has provided financial support to several initiatives focused on patient care, including providing the seed grants to launch Musicians On Call. For nearly a decade, Amos has supported Musicians On Call as a Volunteer Musician, performing live at the bedsides of patients in Nashville and Philadelphia, as well as virtually during the pandemic to bring the healing power of music to those who needed it most.
Two long-standing volunteers will also be honored that night. Susan Berkowitz will receive the Vivek J. Tiwary Volunteer Guide Golden Ukulele and David Falcone will receive the Michael Solomon Volunteer Musician Golden Ukulele.
Anthems of Healing will feature live performances and appearances by award-winning artists, more announcements to come!
