extortion for no work ever completed!

We received an estimate on 8/20/08 from Michael’s Paving. We were told that it was a FREE estimate, and that no payment would be necessary. We discussed the extent of the project (blacktop for driveway) & start date. We received via email the contracts with sketches & various pricing depending on the extent of the paving & curbing work we chose to proceed with. We signed & faxed over the contract for pricing & work approval with an estimated start date. We wrote on the fax “acceptance of only driveway paving costs” and initialed the statement.
