My Pekinese, Gizmo, was throwing up so I called the Vet, Dr. Dentler, at 6th Avenue. She said to bring Gizzie in. She examined her and discovered that her bladder was blocked with stones. This was Friday and she said she'd have to operate on Gizzie on Saturday. At 6 PM, the Doctor called to say that Gizmo was in such a state, if she didn't operate immediately, she'd probably be dead by Saturday. The Doctor asked for my OK to operate which I gave her. She called me at about 9 to say that her bladder had been completely filled with stones and it was touch and go if she could pull through after the surgery. When my 18 year old cat was suffering and needed to be put to sleep, this clinic fit me into their house call schedule, even though I had not gone to this vet before. Not only that, but they fit me in THE SAME DAY that I called, within hours of my call, actually (my vet wasn't making house calls that day). I also was given a shorter waiting-window than the five-hour (1pm-6pm) window my regular vet would have given. And the doctor that made the house call was an extremely sensitive, caring, and down-to-earth person.

This clinic charges the same house-call rate as other places, which is a lot of money. But the friendly and non-judgmental service provided by the doctor was definitely worth it.
