Offering men's and women's basketball and coed, men's and women's volleyball, the NYUPAL attracts over 2,500 teams each year to their recreational games, including "Open Play" volleyball games. Participation requires both a signed waiver and a $1,190 (basketball) or $1,150 (volleyball) fee per team (includes court and referee fees and ten league t-shirts). People interested in joining the league but do not have a team can come to open scrimmages with a check for one-tenth of the entry fee for the sport.
