Editorial Review
The New York Lawn Bowling Club is a group of social "bowlers" who enjoy getting together in harmony and good fellowship to enjoy a common interest - the great sport of lawn bowls.  Members bowl at the greens - located just north of  Sheep Meadow in Central Park, near the West 69th Street pedestrian entrance - every day except Monday.  Exciting club tournaments take place (all day) on Saturdays throughout the May - October season.  Club games start at 1:00 on  Saturdays and 1:30 on Sundays.  Club games on Tuesdays and Thursdays begin at 1:00.  On other days, members are free to arrange their own starting times. Please note that in keeping with the traditions of the sport, it's the club's custom to wear white during weekend and holiday play!

The club also has a policy of offering FREE LESSONS to prospective bowlers.  Lessons are given whenever the greens are open, so if you see people playing, feel free to introduce yourself.  The club even has bowls for students to use during their lessons.  The student-bowler needs only a desire to learn and a pair of smooth-soled shoes (most styles of sneakers are acceptable, as long as they don't have exaggerated treads that will damage the grass).
