While it's not actually an island, Coney Island is home to much of New York's beach-front property. Neighborhoods like the affluent Manhattan Beach and the more middle-class Brighton Beach share space with KeySpan Park (home of the Brooklyn Cyclones) and seasonal droves of beach-going natives and tourists. The "island" hosts the annual Mermaid Parade, the Coney Island Film Festival, Burlesque At The Beach, and the Coney Island Museum.
