Editorial Review
The reopened Waverly Inn is more glamorous than ever, with a nice mainstream menu of traditional American fare. One nice thing about having the great Graydon Carter as a business partner: securing a reservation is simply a near-impossibility. Go ahead and phone, if you wish; instead, you might just show up at the door and plead your case. Consequently, if you find it a tad difficult to get a table here, simply claim you live around the corner and are thrilled to be back at the Inn. The food largely remains country inn—the sort of Inn that requires a "Ye Olde" on the signage—but as consistency and tradition are two things in short supply (in contrast to attitude) in this city, we give Carter et al a free throw.
