Editorial Review
Spitzer’s Corner in the Lower East Side preserves a bit of the history of the exciting neighborhood where they are located. The name Spitzer’s Corner comes from Spitzer’s Dress Shop, which occupied the space for over 50 years. Today, the dress shop has been transformed into a unique and popular gastropub in Manhattan’s cool and hip Lower East Side.
The New York design firm Asfour Guzy (of Blue Ribbon fame) has created a hip, chalet-like space ideal for getting together with friends for casual drinks and fine pub dining. The space is comprised of two large open-air rooms built using all reclaimed wood—pickle barrel wood for the walls, oak for the floors and douglas fir for the tables and seats.
Great place for a weekend brunch, with all kinds of reasonably priced tasty items—Eggs Benedict, Blackberry Pancakes, Brioche French Toast, Smoked Salmon and more. If you're not yet a New York City brunch fanatic, you will be after one or two weekend trips here.
