Editorial Review
The aim of Hecho En Dumbo – derived from the official “Hecho En Mexico” seal on all products manufactured in Mexico– is to bring authentic Mexican cuisine of the highest order to the denizens of Dumbo. Partnered with Forager’s market, Hecho En Dumbo utilizes organic, locally grown produce and free range, antibiotic free proteins to satisfy the most discerning and conscientious palettes. Coupling the best ingredients with a passion for his native cuisine, Chef Danny Mena ensures that each tortilla, pressed by hand, and every plate of guacamole, made fresh to order, meets an almost unparalleled standard of authenticity and quality.
In a broader sense, it is our hope that Hecho En Dumbo gives occasion to celebrate aspects of Mexican culture seldom seen in American media, or vis-à-vis the country’s popular tourist destinations and border towns. Rather, the venue speaks to the contemporary, cosmopolitan culture of Mexico, with its extravagant urban centers and dynamic nightlife, that generates some of the most exciting artists, musicians, and filmmakers today.
