Editorial Review
An exceedingly hip place, Do Hwa often has a DJ spinning tunes, a crowd at the packed bar, and a full dining room of people grilling at the BBQ tables or otherwise devouring mounds of Korean favorites. Far more upscale than its East Village cousin, Dok Suni's, Do Hwa does indeed have great quality Korean food. Purists will bemoan that it is not authentic (perhaps because it is neither located in Koreatown or Queens), but Do Hwa consistently remains one of the most innovative top-end Korean fusion restaurants and is well worth repeat visits. The kalbi in particular is great, as is the cook-at-your-table mixed seafood selection. In addition, the cocktail menu has a number of creative and interesting concoctions.
