Cru - Where was the Sommelier???

Cru - as in wine portfolio - as in over 65,000 bottles with one heavy leather bound book for reds and another for whites.  I was really looking forward to this very hyped-up, wine-oriented, fine dining experience I had heard so much about. I hate to say, I was not impressed.  Yes, the wine list is extensive, however the sommelier who is responsible for it was not on site and our waiter knew nothing about the overwhelming list, so therefore could make no recommendations. Basically, he relied on the pairings for our tasting menu.  The food was above average, but nothing near what ...
