Editorial Review
East Sixth Street offers an entire row of Indian restaurants, mostly run by Bangladeshis, none of which is especially remarkable. But around the corner on First Avenue is a marvelous and indeed authentic restaurant, Banjara, which features some of the best dishes of the subcontinent prepared far more artfully and with better-quality ingredients than you will find at the nearby competitors. When rock-bottom prices are not an issue and when good service and fine food is important, then Banjara is the choice in this neighborhood.
