Editorial Review
ACME looked as though it had been in its present location forever even when it opened, as a pioneer of the distressed look. With endless bottles of hot sauce to spice up the bland BBQ-meets-Cajun-style fare, the big drinks and friendly service made ACME a sure winner with the East Village-meets-NYU crowd. ACME continues to churn out vast quantities of fried and deep fried food, and while nothing is spectacular here, it is perfectly fine if not predictable.
