81 Eighth Avenue,
New York, NY 10011
Editorial Review
The well-known Balducci's reopened in the historic New York Savings Bank building in 2005. "There is no more famous name in food retailing than Balducci's," said Mark Ordan, Balducci's President and a Brooklyn native. As expected, Balducci's immediately regained its status as one of the top gourmet food stores in New York. In addition to a huge array of fresh ingredients, fine cheeses, meats and fish, this location has a most extraordinary assortment of prepared foods.

Designed by R.H. Robertson in the Academic Classic style popularized by the World's Columbian Exposition, the building was constructed in 1896-97. It features a vaulted plaster ceiling underneath a dome and drum, Siena marble pilasters and wainscoting, stained glass windows and bronze window muntins.
