Mario Batali's Fine Achievement
Pros: Amazing, Authentic, Gourmet
Cons: Packed, Slightly Confused Service
Babbo, the acclaimed restaurant by Mario Batali's & Joe Bastianich is a fine, fine Italian restaurant. I have never been to Italy, but of all the Italian restaurants I have tried, high and low class, this by far beats them all out. As for quality of food, atmosphere, and the feeling the food evoked, that of a true Italian restaurant, was undeniable. Of the many things I have ordered there, one of my favorites, and one of the simplest is the Spaghettini. I went with a friend of mine, who spent a good summer in Italy, and she says that the sauce over the pasta is the most authentic Italian she has ever had in the states... it is so flavorful, with a hint of spiciness on the aftertaste. As for the beef dishes, I don't think they could get any better. Prepared perfectly, just tender enough and not pakced with spices or anything, simple yet amazing. I only gave a 4 on service mainly because a couple times when I was there, my table was confused with someone elses. Not that I really mind AT ALL. But I guess I gotta be picky about it. For anyone who can afford to spend a little more for what will be not only true authentic Italian food, but a unique and gourmet twist on it, this is place for you.
