Why God created Brooklyn
Pros: The best of it's kind and worth its own trip to Brooklyn
Cons:
Yeah, cheesecake, yadda yadda yadda. We all know that Juniors is famous for cheesecake -- and rightly so -- but don't forget that this is hands-down one of the greatest comfort food restaurants in New York City. I went their recently with my daughter one evening and ate off their breakfast-all-day menu. Her poached egg on corned beef hash has to be the finest hash I've ever encountered. The minced corned beef was clearly lean flakes of real meat and thoroughly delicious. I went for the blueberry blinzes and again we were duely impressed. The three wallet-size blinzes were golden and not greasy and in no-way resembled egg rolls like almost all other blinzes I've encountered. And the egg cream was as rich as any I've ever had. The staff was polite, attentive -- the bathrooms were attended and stocked with toiletries like any fine restaurant. Just upstairs from the DeKalb Ave station on the R, this is why God created Brooklyn.
