The newly-reopened Brooklyn Children's Museum will be hosting a "Monster Mash" celebration on Friday, October 31st. The Halloween event will feature a dance party with a live Latin band for the costumed kids in attendance, as well as face-painting, monster and mask making activities, and even food from the museum's own greenhouse. Besides access to all of the museum's exhibits, the Monster Mash will also offer kids a chance to hang out with other kids en masse before taking to the demographically-diverse streets to sack houses for candy (side note: it's probably best for kids to avoid trick-or-treating in the Financial District this year, unless they want their candy bags filled with salty, mortgage-backed tears). The event runs from 5pm to 8pm, and tickets are a recession-proof $10 ($7.50 for museum members).
