Stupid narrow-minded system !

Here is my stupid situation :
When i was in NYC in nov. 2005 i had a parking ticket.
violation: "wrong way"
i must explain that, in France, there is no "wrong way" to park, so i didn't know that was forbidden! By the way, i was parked in a dead end street, large for 2 parkings lines and only one circulation line! and the U-turn at the end of the street was blocked by a truck so i was not able to turn in the other way those big car you have in USA!
When i came back to France, i ask for a hearing by internet, and explained the facts. i gave my adress in the hearing (both e-mail and my home in Paris) but had no news until yesterday!
I received, at a wrong address (my parents house! i can't understand where they had this adress!), a "Notice of outstanding parking violation" with an additional penalty of 10$ and a date to pay before 05/29/06. My parents was in holidays for a long period so i even don't know when the mail was received, but i had it the last day. I tryed to pay the bill by internet and by phone with my VISA card number but they told me that where a failure because the system could not verify the cardholder informations with a NON-US zipcode! then i called 212-NEWYORK to ask how can i do to pay the bill but they aswered that the parking violation service was closed because of the holidays (05/29/06 ?) and asked to call back today (05/30/06) the 212-504-4042. I just did it, but the girl on phone told me that i can't do anything else than pay by mail with a check in dollars! but i'm french i can only wrote checks in EUROS!
The situation is so stupid, i'm ready to pay for a ticket that i don't understand but i can't! and penalties are runing higher and higher! DUMB SYSTEM!

This is why I do not have car - and also, the insurance is a killer. But welcome to our bureauocracy!

Maybe next time try the subway. It sure saves a lot of headaches. Being from an automobile crowded state already, trying to negotiate the traffic in NYC is the last thing I want to do.

Of course, a narrow minded person would see this as a problem. Why don't you contact the French Embassy in New York City. After all that is the purpose of such foreign government offices, here in the United States, to solve the problems that it's citizens may encounter while traveling abroad, in the United States. Now if the French Embassy can't solve your problem, then we have a stupid situation.

By the way, I'm thinking that your insulting attitude is as a result of your thinking, that perhaps Americans don't like the French, but the truth can not be further away. Americans love French Perfumes, the French language, French Food, French Clothing Style and visiting France. It's all propaganda (spread by a few people who are interested in getting France to yield to their way of thinking,) and like most people who can't think for themselves, you appear to have fallen into their strategy category. So spread the word: Americans don't dislike the French! Heck, we even love our French Fries.

I find it interesting what you have posted in your photo section, and can you please explain why you have done so?

Hey,
Sorry ? I must have been misunderstood ?
Do you really feel that my attitude was insulting anybody ?
I said "Narrow minded system" but i think that the French system is as narrow minded too in those cases ! that wasn't a attack against anybody ! and certainly not against Americans. I you felt so, then maybe the problem is here.
I'm not paranoid and know that Americans like French, hehe :-) I got several friends in NY.
By the way, I totally make the difference between Americans and the actual American government (I meen president Bush).

I tried to ask the French Embassy in New York and also the American Embassy and consul in Paris to see what they could do, but both wasn't able to do something for me. I finally ask a friend in NYC to make a check for me, and I sended him euros !

For the photos, can you tell me wich one need to be explain ?
