My Pekinese, Gizmo, was throwing up so I called the Vet, Dr. Dentler, at 6th Avenue. She said to bring Gizzie in. She examined her and discovered that her bladder was blocked with stones. This was Friday and she said she'd have to operate on Gizzie on Saturday. At 6 PM, the Doctor called to say that Gizmo was in such a state, if she didn't operate immediately, she'd probably be dead by Saturday. The Doctor asked for my OK to operate which I gave her. She called me at about 9 to say that her bladder had been completely filled with stones and it was touch and go if she could pull through after the surgery. Saturday morning at around 8, the Doctor called me and I could hear her crying. I started to cry also figuring I had lost Gizzie. She said no, she was crying because Gizzie was running all over the place, eating and behaving as if nothing had happened. Gizzie is now 8 and if hadn't been for the work of Dr. D. I would have lost her that day. I will forever be in her debt."
