Over on Sixth Avenue near the sex shops, where there is more than enough graffiti to go around and stickers of every color, size and shape are plastered on subway entrances, light poles, store façades and parking meters, there was an interesting collection. GoVeg.com (who knew?) and some group opposed to Columbia's use of lab animals jockey for position on this meter. Now if this doesn't perk up your vegetarian consciousness, at the very least for your quarters you've been duly instructed as to what dietary changes the sticker pasters want you to make. If you wonder why they did not terrorize Ottomanelli's butcher shop or any of the other meat purveyors on nearby Bleecker Street, perhaps it was the fear of being chased through Greenwich Village with a bloody meat cleaver. After all, parking meters don't fight back.
