LVHRD announces that Founder Marci Zaroff of Under The Canopy (a
leading organic fashion label based in florida) and Russell Robertson
(Co-Founder of Hybrid Product Design and Development Inc.) will be the
speakers for LVHRD's Bi-FOLD III: GRN, taking place at 8 PM on Tuesday
April 24, 2007, at an undisclosed NYC location. Colin Bevin, The
No Impact Man, will be the host for the evening's festivities.
Both speakers will have the opportunity to discuss their views about
the concept of 'Green', showcasing their unique creative differences
within this context.
Under The Canopy's mission is to impact the future of the planet by
creating products that use the earth's resources in a sustainable
manner. Since coining the term ECO-fashion, UTC has been
providing consumers with a chance to eliminate large quantities of
pesticides from their bodies and home, while offering a modern, high
quality, and stylish wardrobe. Marci Zaroff will speak about
UTC's designs and present a fashion show for their Spring/Summer 2007
collection.
Our second presenter is Russell Robertson, Co-Founder of Hybrid Design
and Development, a New York industrial consultancy that develops
concepts for the transportation, consumer electronics, housewares, and
medical diagnostic industries. The Hybrid Design team has
worked on past projects with Design Trust for Public Space, concepting
a hybrid taxi in celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the New
York City taxi.
Bi-FOLD: GRN will be hosted by Colin Bevin, The No Impact Man.
Colin, for one year, has attempted to live with his wife, 2 year old
daughter, and dog, without making any net impact on the
environment: no trash, no carbon emissions, no toxins, and no
subways, among many things. Colin will usher us through the
night's events, while giving his commentary and honest opinion about
sustainability, net impact, and 'Green'.
For more information on Bi-FOLD III: GRN, check out our blog post:

PopRally Presents: Night Crawl
Join PopRally on April 18 for an evening of after-hours gallery talks
at MoMA. Take a tour of the Museum's celebrated photography collection
or the special exhibition Comic Abstraction: Image-Breaking,
Image-Making.
MoMA's Photography Galleries feature images that employ a diverse range
of techniques and subjects—from mid-nineteenth-century daguerreotype
portraits to the monumental contemporary landscapes of Andreas Gursky.
Comic Abstraction: Image-Breaking, Image-Making examines the ways in
which contemporary artists have used images culled from slapstick,
comic strips and films, caricature, cartoons, and animation as
springboards for abstraction—not to withdraw from reality, but to
address complex questions about war and global conflicts, the loss of
innocence, and racial stereotyping. Play with Franz West's Adaptives;
experience the disquieting, cartoonlike noises of Juan Muñoz's Waiting
for Jerry; walk around Polly Apfelbaum’s floor installation Blossom,
and much more.
Tickets are $10 and are available via Ticketweb (see below). Sign up
for one or both talks, then stick around for complimentary drinks and
music by Turntable Lab!
Please use the Museum's film entrance, east of the main entrance on Fifty-third Stree

MERGE GALLERY is pleased to announce a special reception on Friday the
13th of April at 7-10pm to celebrate its current exhibition of new
works by JORDAN EAGLES, a young NYC-based artist who paints using
blood. Calling the artist's work "the antidote to 'Friday the 13th,"
Merge is highlighting the extraordinary positive response its had since
opening Eagles' first solo show in Chelsea March 29th. Entitled "SIGNS
OF LIFE," the exhibition features Eagles' latest works -- panels of
Plexiglas layered with preserved blood, resins and metals that are
anything but macabre.

Blonde Redhead’s noisy, dissonant guitars, alternate tunings, and
quiet, stilted lyrics have often been compared to early Sonic Youth.
Come out and hear their rich and densely-layered songs from the
upcoming album 23, available soon on the iTunes Store. Seating is
limited, so please be sure to arrive early.
