Over the last fifteen years, Shawn Mortensen has photographed cutting-edge culture-makers while also revealing the gritty reality of urban street life and the world’s political climate. Truly with his finger on the pulse, Mortensen took photographs of the in crowd before they were the in crowd. His subjects range from celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Marcello Mastroianni, and Tupac Shakur to contemporary artists like Raymond Pettibon, Brice Marden, and Francesco Clemente. Yet these portraits are juxtaposed with haunting photo essays on the Zapatista movement in Chiapas, Mexico; the ghettoes of Jamaica; and the landscape of Mongolia—often with startling results.
Shawn Mortensen, a Los Angeles–based photographer (also an MTV video award–nominated music video director and an actor) has been a regular contributor to i-D Magazine and has also shot popular covers for Spin and Vibe. Mortenson is celebrating is 2nd book of images and the 14th year of the Zapatista uprising!

I'm working on a fashion photo shoot featuring the Fall 2008
collection for a new women's line of clothing called "Sariah" designed
by Sariah Carson. The collection is youthful, feminine, and hi-end.
We are in need of 1 or 2 more female MODELS for the shoot. If you know
ANYONE who would fit the following description, please pass this info

Height - preferably 5' 8" or taller
Dress size - 0-4
Age - youthful look, preferably 20s
Must be willing to work for trade - clothing, dresses, etc. Great opportunity to add to your portfolio and work with professional photographers and designers! Must be available for shoot date: (morning-evening) TUESDAY - DEC 18th in WILLIAMSBURG BROOKLYN.
