Not impressed, but I will give it another try...
Pros: dining companions thought it was great
Cons: Poor service, my food was not good.
I travel to NYC every 2 - 3 months, and like to try restaurants. This restaurant was highly recommended by friends. Initially, the service was great, however, once time came to place my order, things rapidly went downhill. I ordered the eggplant parmesean, which was listed under the pasta section, assuming that if it's listed under pasta, that it would come with the dish. Not only was it not included, but the waiter did not ask if I wanted pasta on the side, as he did my dining companions. The eggplant was layered with cheese, and the outsides of it were done enough. However, the insides were pale and had not been browned (although the eggplant itself was cooked enough). Because the layers were not browned, the eggplant had a slimey consistency. Worse yet, a waiter walked by and walked on my foot. It took him a moment or two to apologize. My dining companions did get good meals that they truly enjoyed, and I did taste some of one of their meals, but I was so turned off by the service that I did not enjoy my meal. I did let the waiter know about the eggplant. He was not apologetic, but did offer to get the manager. I was not interested in a replacement at that point (having no appetite). I would try it again based on my dining companions experiences (while they were sympathetic to my plight, they were very busy stuffing their faces to spend much time on my bad experience) and the raves of others who have been there, but only reluctantly.
