Oh please!
Pros: nice location
Cons: bad service, bad food, long wait in spite of reservation, overpriced
After arriving on time for our dinner reservation we were directed to sit at the bar where we were kept waiting for almost two hours. We went to remind the maitre d' that we were still waiting for our table only to find that he was extremely rude. He told us that if we didn't care to wait we could leave. Foolishly, we returned to the bar and waited, and waited......When we were finally seated we again waited and waited just to order. When the food finally arrived it was a major disappointment. The four of us who were sitting in the midst of this highly pretentious, chaotic restaurant are very well travelled and have eaten at restaurants all over the world. It seemed to us that the theme of Telepan is to present small portions of food that is unrecognizable to the eye and to the palate and is, at best, very disappointing. This restaurant needs to "get over it's self" and pay attention to the service and the cuisine if it dares to demand the exorbitant prices that they charge. Last night we would have been better off going to a pizzeria. Spare yourself the aggravation of experiencing a disastrous dining fiasco by avoiding Telepan.
