Slow Cooked Pork, made with love
Pros: pork, peanutes, people
Cons:
Finally, I decided to try this place after all the talk about it. I like the boiled peanuts they put on the table. The best thing to order is anything pork, especially smoked or slow-cooked. The beef dishes are not as good. Clearly, the chef as an affinity for the pork.
I also like some of the crazy appetizers on the menu. The menu changes daily, so don't think you can find a "favorite" and then order only that thing. You have to take a risk, so do it.
The garden is nice if it is not too chilly outside. The mis-matched chairs and tables do have that "roots" feel, but it can be annoying if you are at a tall table and have a short chair. Luckily, we were able to trade with some people who had short tables and tall chairs.
If you live in Willy B you can take the B61 to Huron street (just north of Greenpoint Ave) and then walk to the restaurant. There is a lot of construction right now, which means that the area will change soon. Go now before it does.
The service can be very s-l-o-w, so if you are in a hurry, you will be irritated. Like the pork, you have to learn to take your time.
