Great Show, But They'll Let Anybody In...
Chicago is a great show to see while you're in the city. However, be sure to find out who is in the show before you see it. I've seen it several times and I've seen some really great performances (Paige Davis, Wayne Brady), and some really terrible ones (Melanie Griffith). So, check out who is starring in this wonderfully fun show packed with Fosse dance numbers and sly humor. It can be really great, if they have great talent at the time.

Great Comfort Food on the Upper West Side
This is a great place to get good old American food. I highly recommend "Mom's Meatloaf", the Seafood Cobb Salad, and the Chicken Pot Pie. The atmosphere is great here and they also have a nice glassed-in patio to eat on, so you can dine "al fresco" no matter what the weather. However, the thing that sold my friend, Jared, and I on this cozy spot was the fact that you get free refills on all non-alcoholic beverages. That's right...free refills in the city. Now there's a reason to dine out!

Fun Chinese Food in Times Square
I think I went to Ollies at least once a week...oh my. I do miss it. The menu is quite extensive. You may want to start reading it outside (it's posted in the window)before you venture in. If it's Chinese food, they have it. Some of my personal favorites are the Singapore Mai-Fun Noodles, the steamed vegetable dumplings, and the shrimp mai-fun soup. The portions are huge (totally sharable), prices are really fair, and they have the best hot tea around. There's also a location on the Upper West Side (just north of Lincoln Centre). Both are great, though, if you're looking for a quieter meal, I'd recommend the UWS location. Nothing in Times Square is quiet...especially at mealtime.

Yummy sushi at a good price
I love Ocha so much that I had their number in my cell phone when I lived in the city. Their unagi (eel) lunch combo is the BEST! My friend, Joselyn, used to get the teriyaki salmon and raved about it. And I still can't find better miso soup. YUM! The service is great and the delivery guys are really fast. If you like Japanese food, this is the place for you.

Can I have my 3 hours back?
What a HUGE disappointment this was. I saw this show with the original cast (Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria), and my friends and I were soooo excited about it. We got comp tickets, so that made it even better, but by the end of the first act, we realized that we hadn't laughed...at all. I remember thinking the movie (Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail) was hysterical, but this show was BORING. I was so disappointed because I was so excited to see these actors and I was getting NOTHING out of this show. The only person who was remotely entertaining was the woman, and I can't even remember her name. At the end of the performance, we decided that, since we didn't pay for our ti...

A Night of Fun for the Whole Family
This is a wonderful show for the entire family. Kids will love the Wizard of Oz based theme and adults will love the clever story that is actually a prequel to the original story. The cast is superb (though, no one will ever be a better Fiyero than Norbert Leo Butz), and the set is beautiful. The music is fantastic as well. It's absolutely worth buying the CD. Grab a couple of tee shirts while you're at it. Though I do miss the original cast (Kristin and Idina rocked), this show holds it's own with just about anyone.

A Great Place for Sunday Brunch
This is a great place to go with your girlfriends for brunch. Get eggs benedict and a mimosa and chat it up for a couple of hours. FUN!

The Best Cheesecake in NYC
Yes, it's better than Juniors. Don't get all in a tizzy about it. Just accept it. I've had them both, several times. The Roxy deli has the best cheesecake in the city. Every flavor is fantastic. I have to walk everywhere I go to justify having all this cheesecake, but it's WELL worth it. :) They also have one heck of a chicken salad club sandwich. It's HUGE!! I split it with a friend and we can't even finish it between the 2 of us. OY!!

Fantastic Desserts and Great Atmosphere
Cafe Mozart is a great place to take visitors for a "real New York experience." It's not your run-of-the-mill tourist spot. In fact, a lot of out-of-towners miss it altogether. It's their loss, though. This little place has the most divine desserts on the planet, not to mention the rest of the menu. So, stop in and get some lunch or dinner, and finish it off with a Belgian waffle sundae or a slice of Death by Chocolate. It's also a great place for birthdays. They make you wear a Mozart wig and play his music over the speaker system and then take your picture in the wig and make a custom birthday card for you. It's great fun.

Great Italian outside of Little Italy
Carmines is good eating in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Food is served on platters that could easily hold a Thanksgiving turkey (and then some), so bring a friend or two and come hungry! I highly recommend the Carmine salad and the chicken marsala. YUM!
