Great Italian outside of Little Italy
Pros: huge portions, great service, great for families and theatre patrons
Cons: wait can be long if you don't make reservations
Carmines is good eating in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Food is served on platters that could easily hold a Thanksgiving turkey (and then some), so bring a friend or two and come hungry! I highly recommend the Carmine salad and the chicken marsala. YUM!

The original Carmine's on the upper west side is also worth a visit. And if you don't feel like heading outside, they also offer great take out. Just be warned: the servings are huge. As in four to six people huge.
