Del Posto HUGE Disappointment
Pros: ambience, romantic, classic
Cons: food doesn't even come close to what is was hyped up to be, inattentive service
This was intended to be the first 4-5 start italian restaurant in NY - (how do you do that anyway? It's Italian food, not exactly haute cuisine.) Anyway, the wine list is great, and they have a great selection of cheeses and deserts, and the menu is fairly interesting. Too bad the food doesn't measure up to the atmosphere. This place is priced too high for what you get. Nice try, but not quite. The atmosphere, however is phenomenal but the service left something to be desired, and on an evening which was not busy. Try somewhere else - even if you are charging it on your expense account.
