Barcade - It's exactly what it sounds like!
What can you get for a quarter these days? Not much, but at least Barcade lets you put all that spare change to good use. For just 25 cents you can play all your fave old-school games. Tetris! Donkey Kong! Frogger! Oh the memories. Just try not to let those jaded and detached Billysburg hipsters infringe on your fun.

Terminal 5

  More like interminable 5
With its cavernous layout, poor lines of sight and echo-y acoustics, catching a concert at Terminal 5 is about the equivalent watching some of the coolest bands around play a show in your middle school gym. essentially the uncoolest of places. It's also located way, way out on the west side and requires a long trek to the nearest subway station, which is avenues and avenues away. Ultimately it's only worth going to if an act you've been dying to check out is playing, otherwise stick to one of the smaller Bowery Presents venues.

  pitch-perfect acoustics
The acoustics are wonderful in this intimate mid-size venue. Not only is the Bowery the best place in Manhattan to see a show, but more importantly it's the best place to HEAR it.

Strongest 3 dollar margaritas in town
The happy hour specials are great, especially the 3 dollar frozen margaritas. They are far stronger than the price tag suggests. I was also shockingly impressed by how tasty their veggie burgers are as well.

As for concerts in their main room, well sometimes it gets a little cramped, depending on the show. But they generally speaking it's a great affordable place to catch an eclectic array of indie musicians.

Additionally, every Tuesday night there's free music upstairs. It's a cozy, intimate space -perfect for catching some up-and-coming acts.
