New York
In NYC Since: 1959

Born in Brooklyn's Kings County Hospital, spent the first 16 yrs of my life living in East New York (I like to say with the Blacks and Puerto Ricans.) Because of public school zoning went to High School in Astoria, Queens. Moved there at 17 years old and lived with the Greeks for the next 26 years. My children were born during this time. My son Arnaldo is 26 yrs old (a Freegan) and my daughter Helen is 22 yrs old (a Mechanical Engineer). I must say my life in NY was not easy nor normal. Stumbling blocks from day one right up to the day I moved to New Jersey. Although the neighborhoods in NYC are segregated I never experience racism, and with an education I'm sure anyone can make it there. Self taught because NYC public schools steered me into vocational minus academics. No big deal, I survived, but many don't. Introduced to Origami through the Donald Trump Organization, that held a Christmas Holiday Introduction Event at a NYC owned location,, many years ago. Came across an Origami book at a thrift shop years later to add to my library. Four years ago, because of down-time at my place of work was able to begin folding models. Today, I am able to create beautiful center pieces for all the holiday seasons. Because the models are incorporated into other forms of arts and crafts, and sealed they are great gift ideas. Naturally, I do this work on my spare time since I work 5 days a week as a county (Government) employee. I'm not married, yet in what appears to be a long term relationship, who knows. I live quite comfortable and own two cats who are very spoiled, to say the least. We love them very much, they are our babies. I love Youtube and you can catch more on myspace.com with the same screen name: gadnynj
