seafarers and fishmongers
Pros: terrific, interesting
Cons: location inconvenient to public transportation
Long ago when Lower Manhattan was the main residential area of the entire city, when seafarers and mariners ruled the roost, maritime New York was of prime importance. This museum chronicles so much about New York's relationship with its surrounding water and maritime trade. I suspect with the closing of the Fulton Fish Market this museum will see more visitors and more exhibits about the history of the disappearing fishmonger.
