sanitized by Giuliani, but fun
Pros: a ton of fun
Cons: less chance to explode firecrackers than before
While the wild free-for-all that used to mark Chinese New Year (i.e. 24-hour fireworks) was banished by Mayor Giuliani, it nevertheless remains a festive time in the neighborhood, geared for residents and tourists alike. While an impressive street scene can be seen, the real fun is in the restaurants, where big banquets rule the day. Do not miss out!
