New Year's satellite feed for mobile phone TV and IPTV

Live from Times Square on your cellphone, it's an eight-camera mixed feed including panoramic views of Times Square and the ball drop. Since you can't have champagne out on the street and the $500 tickets to the Times Square Alliance party are sold out, why not just pull down the satellite feed yourself and rebroadcast it? Or just click here.

desperate NYC transit strike stories! boats! scooters!

We're all in this together or we all hang separately? Depends on how you read the tea leaves, or on how you view the posts at Craigslist, the bulletin board of the weird, the needy, the greedy and the desperate. A fresh selection:

9 BEE LINE BUS TIX - MANHATTAN EXPRESS - $4
I have 9 tickets for the Bee-Line Express to NYC. Will sell individual tix or the whole lot. Tix are $5 each. Pick up at my office on Central Ave. in Hartsdale. Respond to post if you are interested.
[ Fresh says: don't buy from scalpers! Didn't this guy make enough selling Stones or Springsteen tickets??? ]

A friend of mine has electric battery powered scooters for sale for $100.
Adult size...plug in and charge overnight..ride to work and back. Easily take upstairs and fold to put in car trunk. He has 11 left. I can deliver within reason. Please email if interested and ill reply with pics. Good Luck out there....
[ Fresh wonders if you can get a New York State tax rebate on alternative fuel-source transportation? ]

re: GAS, GRASS, or ASS ... No One Rides for Free
you are no different than those you call "union scumbags" if you are asking people to pay you to drive them.
[ Fresh notes the battle lines are drawn ]

$1.50 rides from penn station area to city hall area
just take the fucking path train.
[ Fresh notes this tough trash-talker clicked the "no -- it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests" option ]

DO YOU HAVE A BOAT? TRANSPORT NEEDED IN CASE OF STRIKE
Ride needed tomorrow between 6:45-7:45AM from UWS (north of 96th st) to Soho/Greenwich Village (W.Houston/Varick St) for SPECIAL ED TEACHER. Cab share, car with room for passengers, boat, etc. Any leads you can provide will be appreciated.
[ Fresh suggests Circle Line boat ... because your thoughts are encircled by fears that not even Scientology can cure... do you really think your special ed students are going to show up??? hello? ]

Need Ride to New Haven this Saturday - Will Pay
My wife and I need to get to New Haven CT. Saturday evening. Anyone heading up there? We'll cover all expenses. Thanks, -Eli Feinstein
[ Fresh suggests you call A Railroad, they are in the phone book under "r" and not under "a" ... oh just kidding, Eli knows there is a railroad, don't you Eli? ]

MTA Strike Ride wanted Astoria to Penn Station area
I need a ride in case of MTA strike Friday from 30th avenue near N/W in Astoria to Penn Station or lower Manhattan. Willing to share ride and cost.
Contact me at catherinemd32@yahoo.com or 917.519.2611.
[ Fresh thinks Catherine, however, doesn't know from railroads ... ]

I am driving from Manhattan to LaGuardia tomorrow at 7pm
I am driving to JFK from Manhattan on Friday night...any ladies need a "ride" with a sexy 30 year old taking a weekend trip? Maybe you are headed somewhere too? Let's chat you will not be disappointed...
[ Fresh suggets ladies seek other options ]

NEED RIDE TO JFK IN CASE OF STRIKE?
I am driving from midtown to JFK tomorrow morning. Will charge basic cab rate, say 50 bucks a person, no tolls, no tip.
[ Fresh thinks this rate will quadruple once the driver hits the Van Wyck and offers to let you out on the roadway unless you pay up. ]

cops killed, Albany clearly not shamed

The slaying of police officer Daniel Enchautegui was hopefully a wake-up call to our morbidly lethargic legislature about effective gun control laws, and certainly Mayor Bloomberg picked up on the topic right away. But the insensitive and indeed caustic comments made last week by Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver—"I don't go to cops' funerals," he told the New York Post—underscore that this insensitive gaffe did not go unnoticed. While the Daily News today ran a stirring letter by Detective Adam Frasse about the need for more effective laws against gun traffickers, the New York Post excoriated Silver further. Methinks Silver is now on message. But a month from now, let's see what legislation he actually brings forth to protect our officers and the public from the scourge of illegal guns.
