The effects of a massive garage inferno: charred taxis, burned Coke machine, wrecked payphone, angry Russian fellows demanding to know why Firebug wants photos. Hey, Firebug isn't the arson inspector, he's just curious! This photo is particularly ghoulish, with the taxi that was jacked up still in place long after the fire was extinguished.

Truly astounding what a blaze can do to Verizon's finest. Or was it one of those nasty phones that always eats your quarters? Well, it's interesting to see the circuit board survived the blaze. The quarters, of course, had long since disappeared. Note the Chelsea Piers in background at extreme right.

Men in a junkyard are never very friendly, and these chaps were no exception. Yet they had suffered a total loss, so what did Firebug expect? Firebug always thinks big garage fires are suspicious, but of course has no evidence pointing either way.

The sodas largely stayed in place (and note the one at bottom) but the machine just couldn't take the heat.

Check out the carbonization here, and in particular look at the shards and tiny fragments on the ground.

Amazing all this scrap at 196 Eleventh Avenue; your imagination strains, wondering how it looked before the flames enguled it all.
