Roach in my cappuccino
Went there last night for dinner with 8 other friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. The place is quite pleasant even though it's not a big restaurant. The hosts were helpful and the service was okay. The food wasn't so bad. After dinner we ordered deserts. As you can tell from the title, I ordered a cup of cappuccino. After a few sip, I realized there's something in my month, and I spit out a small roach. Gross. Lucky I could keep my composure and didn't throw up on the spot. We talked to the host and the deserts were in the house. While the food in general wasn't bad there, but no way I would give them anything more than 1 in that category when I had to spit out a roach.

Authentic Japanese ramen noodles without MSG
When it comes to Japanese ramen, Rai Rai Ken is always on the top of my list. Authentic receipes, with the small Japanese noodles stand environment, also soup base without MSG, affordable price... it's a must try for those who craves for noodles like me. Only problem is this place is small and it's packed almost all the time like alot of other good Japanese restuarants in the East Village.

A pleasant surprise
Been in their pastry shop a few time before. From cheese cake to other pastries, they are good and affordable. Recommended by a friend, my fiance and I went to dine out at their restaurant. Friendly staff, nice place, and I love their pizza. Not those you would find from Pizza Hut or Domino' s, but real Italian style pizza. Price is reasonable too. Since they have their own pastry shop right next to the restaurant, the waitress actually brought us samples of their desert for us to choose from instead of just looking at the menu. I wouldn't say they are the best of all New York, but this place is definitely worth checking out if you live or are around Bensonhurst.

Cheap neighborhood car rental in Brooklyn
I found and reserve a minivan from an online car rental site for a trip to Toronto during the last memorial day weekend. Super affordable price compared to other big names. A 4 days minivan rental to Toronto (1000+ miles round trip) cost less than $300. Their office is super small and only 1 person working at a 1 person front desk. Waited for 30 minutes just to talk to the front desk. Ended up getting a beaten-up Chevy Venture with a missing glove compartment and an interior smelled like public bathroom. The odometer read 50000 something miles, but toward the end of the trip I accidently discovered they actually blocked the first digit of the odometer on the dash and the actual mileages...

Not a present visit.
This is the first time I ever stepped foot into a car dealership. I don't know if it's because I don't look like a possible customer, or it's the entry level car I was interested in, the sales person had this nasty arrogant attitude. He made it sound like I was dumb or something. How could he asked: "You've never seen the car before, not even a picture of it?" I am just not going to pay a load of money for this kind of attitude.

Chinese and Japanese treats in one.
"Tongin" - Chinese term translates to "Tokyo". They have a good variety of authentic Chinese AND Japanese food products, from instant ramen noodles, ramune soda to all kinds of Chinese and Japanese teas. They even have a small Sushi stand INSIDE the store. If you are in Chinatown and want Japanese treats, this is the place to go.

A great hang out place in SOHO
Quality drinks, great food, stylish decoration, friendly service. Grab a few friends, order some of their fine snack dishes and you will be amazed how fast time passes by you. Peach Martini is good. I have also tried their chicken wings, grill veggi, and some of their sandwishes. To put it in Rachel Ray's terms... they are "yum...o and yum, yum yum".

A zoo at the heart of Manhattan.
Well, it's a small zoo but it's right in the middle of Manhattan, so what do you expect. It's a great place to bring your kids there in sunny afternoon and a nice idea for field trip if you teach summer school in the city. Not to mention you can visit other parts of Central Park afterward.
