It's a romantic film about two people who met again after 9 years. Two
people talking about anything (everything) just like in real life (or
like it should be). Two people falling in love, slowly, with each
dialog. Two people realizing that they are not happy with their lives,
and at the same time discovering that they were meant to be together.
It's incredible to see how happy those characters are together, and
even so, there is no one kiss or sexual scene nor even say "I love you"
in the entire movie.
The dialogs are amazing. The walk by Paris, the café, the last scene..... it's all perfect.
SYNOPSIS
When Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) met on a Eurail train, the connection between
them was immediate and profound. The 14-hour relationship that followed, as the pair explored the
spontaneous and unexpected in Vienna, ended on a train platform where they swore they'd meet
again six months later.
Nine years have passed since that morning.
On the last stop of his book tour, at the tail end of a reading in a Paris book shop, Jesse finds Celine
watching from the back of the room. She lives in Paris now, he in New York. He's flying out that
evening and they utilize every moment, finding their human connection no less vital, inspiring or
real than it was in nine years ago in Vienna.
In a stimulating and revealing journey through Paris, in real time, these two individuals explore
the inner workings of their hearts and minds and rediscover their rare yet powerful love for the
unexpected, the unrehearsed, and each other.

It's my favorite movie. No matter how many times I watch it, I cry and laugh as I did the first time.
It's a film about nostalgia, that mix of emotions, specially happiness
and sadness when you remember a so much happy moment in your life, and
at the same time you also remember that the loving persons that were
with you now have already gone....
It's just an story about life.
The relationship between Alfredo and Toto (that I can actually see them when I'm listening "childhood and manhood" ).
Toto's mom, overwhelmed by rising her son and daughter, waiting her husband to return form war, even knowing that he's dead.
The frustration of this big first love not corresponded, and the consequences of it.
How a life can be miserable in some aspects (love) and fantastic in
others (professional), just for some issue not well-resolved 30 years
ago.
That old mother that unconditionally love him and don't interfere in
his life, even that she doesn't understand him and knowing that he is
not happy in his personal life (always a different woman voice on his
phone).
The return to his hometown, meeting with old friends, realizing that although time went by he is also remembered....
I love this film. I love the soundtrack. So touching.
