less unpleasant, yet...
Pros: lots of buses to lots of places
Cons: ugly and poorly designed, directional signs are bad
What used to be the most unpleasant place in New York City, which stank of urine and was full of homeless people, was cleaned up and got classical music piped in to scare away transients. It's still not a place you want to linger one minute more than necessary, but most big-city bus terminals around the world aren't either.
