I have to admit, as a NYC dweller this is not high on my list, however when relatives came into town it was at the top for things to do. The "system" they have (go to the basement to go to the top) makes little sense, but that said if you're willing to jump through the hoops required to get to the view its well worth it. There's just nothing more breathtaking than to see all of Manhattan on a clear day. Go with friends, or for a really romantic moment take someone special and get to see the city through fresh eyes, it will make dinner after - even if its the same old pizza you've had a million times taste all the better.
